I woke up this morning...

refreshed and relaxed. Tina was still sleeping and Isaac was stirring. After a good night's sleep, he often stirs himself awake and into a good, playful mood. It's not too uncommon to be woken up by coos and lip "razzing". So, this morning I took advantage of his mood to make silent, funny faces, hoping to elicit a smile or shriek. I got the smiles, but no shrieks. I guess he didn't want to wake mommy up until he was hungry. Hungry eventually he became and to feeding he went. Both him and mommy usually fall asleep after this morning feeding, so I went downstairs to let the dog out, read the paper, and have some breakfast.

After an hour or so, I returned upstairs to continue painting our master bedroom. I did the edging and cutting out, then I used a roller on the rest of the wall. This was the second coat for the taupe wall. Now we're gonna paint the other walls antique white. I'm thinking of trying out the linen technique on a few of these walls.

After lunch, Tina, Isaac and I headed out to Costco to develop some pictures. It was a madhouse today! Crazy!

We also decided to do some Christmas shopping at the Gilroy outlets. Our first stop was GAP. They had some good sales on kid stuff. While in line, I saw R Paul Villaluz, former Salip groom of Likha. He's over at SF State right now working on a Graphic Design degree. After chatting for a while, he asked if we had a Gap Friends and Family discount card. Since we didn't, he offered to lend us his. Sweet! After ringing everything all up, we saved an extra $80 because of his card. Regardless, it was good to see him again. I told him to come back cuz we needed more guys. I also told him about Likha's tour plans for next year. He seemed genuinely interested in the August gig, but we'll see.

Outside in the parking lot, while putting Tina was putting Isaac into the car, I noticed that the guy who had parked right next to us look really familiar. We both glanced at each other, did a double take and smiled! It was "Charles" ( the last name escapes me right now) of Fatima and Charles. We caught up for a bit, then family and I headed out to get some dinner.

I have this uncanny habit of knowing somebody where ever I go. I've had people come up and say hi all over the place. Most of the time, they're students. I've seen my students in airports, airplanes, LA, Hawaii, and even Mexico! Usually they greet me with a "Hey,Mr Cruz!" or "Hey mom, he was my math professor!" At least they're not cussing at me when the see me outside of the classroom ;)
